In ''[[Super Mario Sunshine]]'', Mario, Peach, [[Toadsworth]], and a few [[Toad (species)|Toads]] go on a vacation to [[Isle Delfino]] on [[Toad Express|Peach's private plane]]. Shortly after arriving at the [[Delfino Airstrip]], the characters find it covered in [[goop]]. Peach faintly sees [[Shadow Mario]] at a distance nearby, but when she tries to get the others' attention, they are gone. Later, when Mario defeats the first [[Polluted Piranha Plant]], Peach is among the characters to congratulate him for doing so.

Mario is taken to court because he is wrongfully accused of polluting [[Isle Delfino]], due to resembling the true culprit, Shadow Mario. When Peach tries to give an alibi, she is immediately overruled by the [[Pianta judge]], who sentences Mario to clean all of [[Isle Delfino]] with [[F.L.U.D.D.|FLUDD]].

Peach then went to [[Delfino Plaza]], as it currently was not possible to reach the hotel. There, Shadow Mario grabbed her and ran away. Mario followed them and was able to release Peach from Shadow Mario with the help of FLUDD. The incident was reported by the local radio, the [[Delfino Emergency Broadcast System]].

Peach remains in Delfino Plaza during the early parts of Mario's journey. However, when Mario returns there after obtaining the tenth [[Shine Sprite]], Peach is found to be kidnapped by Shadow Mario, who takes her away to [[Pinna Park]]. During the course's first [[Mission|episode]], "[[Mecha-Bowser Appears!]]", Shadow Mario reveals his true identity, [[Bowser Jr.]], who claims that Peach is his mother, and wanted to stop Mario from taking her away. After Bowser Jr.'s [[Mecha-Bowser]] machine is destroyed by Mario, he flees with Peach in the head, which is still intact, to [[Corona Mountain]].

Mario discovers Peach at the peak of Corona Mountain, where she is forced to be with Bowser and Bowser Jr. in a pool of green [[hot water]], which Bowser describes as a "family vacation." Peach is rescued by Mario, and they begin their vacation at Isle Delfino, as they had originally planned.
