Princess Toadstool appears in most of the episodes of the [[DiC Entertainment]] shows ''[[The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!]]'', ''[[The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3]]'', and ''[[Super Mario World (television series)|Super Mario World]]''. In the shows, Princess Toadstool is depicted with red hair instead of her usual blond, based on her sprites from ''[[Super Mario Bros.]]'' and its sequels for the [[Nintendo Entertainment System]]. Peach is usually a damsel-in-distress whom Mario and Luigi has to rescue.

Toadstool is revealed to be looking for someone to defeat King Koopa in ''[[The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!]]'', but she takes the time to help others as necessary. Princess Toadstool is very charitable, helping the [[Mushroom Kingdom Orphanage]] and opening a school. She has a powered-up form named [[Super Princess]] in "[[The Trojan Koopa]]," an episode of ''The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!''.

Sometime after the events of ''The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3'' series finale "[[Super Koopa]]," King Koopa, the [[Koopalings]], and their armies were banished from the Mushroom Kingdom. Princess Toadstool, Mario, and Luigi went on vacation to the [[Dinosaur Land|Dinosaur World]] in their assumed safety, only for Toadstool to be kidnapped by King Koopa and his minions. After adventuring and befriending Yoshi, Mario and Luigi managed to rescue Princess Toadstool from Bowser's [[Neon Castle]] and subsequently decided to stay in [[Dome City]] with the [[Cave People]].
