''[[Super Princess Peach]]'' marked a change of roles in the ''Mario'' franchise, with Princess Peach now having to save Mario and Luigi from Bowser. With the aid of a talking umbrella named [[Perry]], Peach goes to [[Vibe Island]], where Bowser has moved his operations in order to obtain the [[Vibe Scepter]]. However, the [[Goomba]] who brought it to him had been affected by its magic, and with a calm, playful attitude, he used the scepter on the entire island, affecting various species with [[Vibe]]s, thereby creating chaos.

With this, Peach was capable of using four Vibe techniques to help her through the areas. Princess Peach also was capable of floating for a short period of time like she was in ''Super Mario Bros. 2'' (and subsequently, the [[Super Smash Bros. (series)|''Super Smash Bros.'' series]]), only this time she used Perry to hold her aloft rather than her dress.

Eventually, Peach fights her way through the island's many hazards and rescues Mario and Luigi. Perry becomes less amnesiac over time, eventually recovering his memory. After Peach rescues Mario, he picks her up into his arms and gives her some flowers, then all of the characters return home.
