All official aspects of the Mario franchise and related media, are trademarks and copyrights of Nintendo and other relevant parties, including most of the images used here. Mario Compendium bears no affiliation with Nintendo, nor do we guarantee that our site's content reflects Nintendo or any of its beneficiaries.

Mario Compendium claims the use of all copyrighted content (belonging to either Nintendo and/or its affiliates or the person or organization that developed the concept) to be "fair use" on this wiki, given that:

• It is used in a non-commercial setting, and therefore is not being used to generate profit in this context.
• Its use here does not significantly impede the right of the copyright holder to sell the copyrighted material.
• The original content of the image has not been modified, and it is not a derivative work.

Copyrighted content that does not constitute "fair use" will not be used without permission from the author. In the case of copyleft images, the terms of the copyleft license will be respected.

Mario Compendium claims some rights to its content. Mario Compendium proudly has its text content available under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL), and may only be copied, distributed, and/or modified with other wikis or sites operating under the same license, as long as the material is credited to all previous contributors. Any e-mails, notes, message/bulletin board/forum postings, ideas, suggestions, concepts or other material submitted will become the property of Mario Compendium and its connected sites under the GFDL. Mario Compendium shall be entitled, consistent with our privacy policy, to use the material or any of its elements for any type of use forever, including in any media whether now known or hereafter devised. When you submit material to Mario Compendium, you agree that it and its connected sites have the right to publish or otherwise use the material or any of its elements for any type of use, including promotional and advertising purposes.

This does not apply to trademarked names and text consisting of quotes from games or books used for referencing. Mario Compendium does not own the rights to these, but claims them to be "fair use" on this wiki.

Files

Images and audio files displayed on Mario Compendium remain the property of their original creators. Copyrighted images are used with permission and shall be attributed to the author, unless the image is being used under the "fair use" doctrine.

Work that is deemed ineligible for copyright will be listed as being in the public domain. Mario Compendium cannot be held responsible for users who falsely identify a work's copyright status.

Original works uploaded to Mario Compendium that have not been copyrighted are automatically made available under the GFDL. By uploading an original work, the author is consenting to having the work released under copyleft; that work may be copied, distributed, and/or modified under the terms of the GFDL.
