Mario Compendium:Acceptable sources
The Mario Compendium uses the GNU Free Documentation License, like some other wikis. However, several wikis have ditched this license in favor of the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike (CC-BY-SA) license, including Wikipedia and Fandom (originally Wikia), though the former GNU Free Documentation License can be used like CC-BY-SA for older revisions from before the license change.[1]
Keep in mind that the license always requires that you provide a link to the article and a list of authors. On the Zelda Wiki, we handle this with attribution templates (see below). It is important to note that if the page history exists, a link to it is required,[2] which is also handled by our attribution templates. If a history page does not exist, you are required to provide a log of the edits, preferably on the talk page. For the least risk, we recommend using all of the aforementioned.
