Editing Mario Compendium:Acceptable sources

The Mario Compendium uses the [[Mario Compendium:GNU Free Documentation License|GNU Free Documentation License]]. However, several wikis have ditched this license in favor of the [https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/ Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike (CC-BY-SA)] license, including Wikipedia and Fandom (originally Wikia), though the former GNU Free Documentation License can be used like CC-BY-SA for older revisions from before the license change.<ref name=relicense/>

Keep in mind that the license always requires that you provide a '''link to the article''' and a '''list of authors'''. On the Mario Compendium, we handle this with attribution templates (see below). It is important to note that if the page history exists, a link to it is '''required''',<ref>"I. Preserve the section Entitled 'History', Preserve its Title, and add to it an item stating at least the title, year, new authors, and publisher of the Modified Version as given on the Title Page.
